Glendale Griffin happenings

Week of December 14th

Tax Credit Campaign
:
Don’t forget – the deadline is nearing.  Every dollar you give (up to $400 for married couples) is refunded 100% on your Arizona tax return and you can even allocate which sport or extracurricular program you want your money to go toward.  Glendale Prep is committed to providing the best athletics and extracurricular activities possible – the more tax money they receive the more benefits your students receive.  This is a dollar for dollar win/win program.  All forms must be submitted either online or in the office or postmarked by midnight, December 31,  Be sure to check the GPA website to track our progress.

Lunch Order:
Attached is the lunch order form due January 11th, which is the first Monday after our break.  Note the dates of the lunches on this order.

PO Meeting
:
The first PO Meeting of 2010 will be held Thursday, January 7th in room 15.  Please note that this is during Project Week.  We hope to see you there as we kick off a new year and prepare and plan all the second semester happenings,

Restaurant Night: Thank you for your participation in our Restaurant night at Rubio’s.  We had a great turn out and many families enjoyed the sense of community as Glendale Prep took over the restaurant.  There was even a teacher challenging students to arm wrestle – by the way – I hear he won several times.  Watch for the January announcements for Restaurant nights – we will be supporting our Anthem families next month by hosting in their area.

Scrip Cards and Booster Booth:
Several families expressed an interest in purchasing scrip cards for the holidays.  If you placed an order they will be at the booth.   An assortment of cards will be available for cash and carry at the booster booth on December 16, 17 or 18 after 12:30pm.  There will also be several booster items for last minute gifts available for purchase.  Stop by to see the new t-shirts, sweatshirts and bookbags.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to our wonderful families at Glendale Prep

Glendale Griffin happenings

Week of December 7th

Tax Credit Campaign: Don’t forget – the deadline is nearing.  All forms must be submitted either online or in the office by midnight, December 31. Every dollar you give (up to $400) is refunded 100% on your Arizona tax return and you can even allocate which sport or extracurricular program you want your money to go toward.  This year we are also offering incentives for recruiting family and friends to also participate in this program.  Be sure to check the GP website to track our progress toward our goal of raising $50,200.  www.glendaleprep.org

Butter Braids: Thank you for placing your orders.  Delivery will be Monday, December 14 after school on campus.  Look for the table near the pick-up area. Because this is a frozen product please plan on picking up your order before 4pm or make arrangements for a friend to pick them up.  Unfortunately we do not have a place to store your order.

Snowstorm: The Snowstorm has hit Glendale Prep (as you can see from all of the snowflakes in the office!).  This program is a great way to show the teachers and staff our appreciation for the great job they do each day.  Instead of purchasing individual gifts for teachers, simply make a donation and we will divide these monies evenly among the staff. You can place your contribution in the PO Box slot marked “All Other Forms”, just mark it SNOWSTORM – be sure to get your snowflake to be hung in the office.  Let’s let the teachers know just how great they are!

Restaurant Night: Several parents have asked for a night out in December – so here it is!  On Monday, December 14 from 2:00 – 9:00 come dine-in or carry-out at Rubio’s at 59th Ave and Beardsley (in the Fry’s shopping center).  This is the location that provides great lunches for our school so this is a great way to support them back.  Watch for the flyer on Friday for some fun opportunities to show your school spirit that night and win prizes.  This is the last Monday of school for 2009 and a great way to get a head start on winter break. Thank you to all the families that attended in November at Dillon’s BBQ – we received a check for $102.00 and the 6th grade enjoyed pizza for lunch.

Scrip Cards: Several families expressed an interest in purchasing scrip cards for the holidays.  We placed an order that was delivered last week but it seems there are more – so we are going to be collecting orders again.  If you would like to order scrip gift cards prior to the break please do so by Friday, December 11 at 4pm. These cards will be available for pick up at the booster booth on December 16, 17 or 18 after 12:30pm.

Thank you for the many ways you support our school,
