Griffin Games: Count down to the Games 31 days
March 27, 2010 – Plan now to be part of the biggest school event of the year!!! Contact Sandy Gallo at sandygallo@cox.net if you have questions or want to add your name to a committee already underway.

**WE NEED DONATED FOR THE GAMES**:
- Small silk flowers in pastel colors, silk leaves, Dark Green Pipe cleaners
- 2 liter bottles of soda – any flavor will work
- Empty coffee cans with lids (tin or plastic will work)
- Large Empty Clear Plastic containers with lids (like those from Sam’s/Costco with pretzels in them)
Don’t forget items for the raffle also. See the attached flyer for specifics
You can place items in the basket on the PO Credenza in the front office. Thank you and watch here for additional items.

Griffin Games Grade Booths: Mary Crow is heading up our parent teams to man the event booths by grade and section. She has broken this down into 30 minute shifts between the hours of 10am and 2pm. This will allow everyone to enjoy the day and no one will be working the entire time. If you are contacted to participate, remember that the time will go quickly and be easy if everyone takes a small bite of the big event. Please feel free to contact Mrs. Crow at marycrow@qwest.net if you would like to get your name in now.

Restaurant Nights: Here is a list of dates to put on your calendar. We will be circulating flyers a few days prior to each event. Each will have some specific details for the event and possibly some fun activities/contests for students and their families.
March 10 – Panda Express from 5:00 – 10:00pm @ 59th and the 101 (SW Corner)
March 31 – Babbo’s @ 67th and the 101 (NE Corner) time to be announced
April 15 – Abacus Inn from 11:00 – 9:00pm @ 59th and the 101 (NE Corner)
April 29 – Grimaldis Family Pizza and Tundra Ice Cream from 2:00 – 9pm
59th and the 101 (NE Corner) – visit one or have pizza and dessert
May 11 – Oggi’s from 6:00 to 9:00pm @ 67th and the 101 (SE Corner)

Commemorative Griffin Games T-Shirts: We are excited to offer the 2nd Annual Commemorative T-Shirt along with the introduction of Glendale Prep Athletic Shorts. The design is really special and we are sure you will love it. Attached is the Pre-Order form which must be turned in by March 8th. This is a special shirt and will only be available for the Games so remember to order yours.

February 26th: No School: Reading Day (a day for students to enjoy reading and spending time with their family)
March 4th: PO Meeting at 7:00pm in Room 17
March 5th: Winter Sports Awards Ceremony

This Week at Glendale Prep:

Family Game Night: Just when was the last time you sat down with your kids and played a game?  Well don’t put it off any longer – come on over for some pizza and fun.  Friday, February 19th at 6:00pm we will be setting up the game boards and having a great time in the Narthex here at Glendale Prep.  Don’t miss it.  See the attached flyer for details on how to reserve a spot.

Booster Booth: We will be selling Glendale Prep T-shirts tomorrow, February 11 after school at the Booster Booth on the lawn.  This is your last chance to purchase a Glendale Prep shirt that your children can wear to Friday’s Academic Field Day.

Yearbooks: It is not too late to order yours.  If you missed the presale you can still place your order.  Yearbooks are $35.00 each and you can use the attached form to reserve yours.

Restaurant Night: Come on over to Paradise Bakery and Café for a great evening of food and family and fun, next Tuesday February 16.  Watch for the upcoming flyer for the date and details.

8th Grade Promotion: In just a few short months we will promote our second class of eighth grade students into Glendale Prep’s upper school.  If you would like to volunteer to help out with this milestone event, please contact Mrs. Joy Hodesh by email at jhodesh@hotmail.com and let her know.  This committee will be meeting this month and we would love to have you involved.

Upcoming events for the month of February

ANTHEM Restaurant Night: Tonight (Feb 2nd) is the night!!! We will be hosting our first Anthem Restaurant night at Barro’s Pizza at 41111 N. Daisy Mountain – from 11:00a.m.to close. Just take a flyer with you for dine in or carry out and present to the cashier and Glendale Prep will receive 10% of the total sales with flyers that day. Students received a flyer yesterday and we have attached another to this email for you to use. Let’s support our families who make the drive South by driving North.

PO Meeting: Join us this Thursday, February 4th at 7:00pm in room 17 (note the room change). We will be done by 8:30 p.m. Come and find out what is happening at Glendale Prep and have some refreshments with a great group of parents. Attached is the agenda for the night.

Booster Booth: On Friday, February 5th, we will be holding our monthly booster booth from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Yearbooks are the featured item. This is your opportunity to reserve your copy. Yearbooks will be presold for $30 ($5 savings). If you have more than two students at Glendale Prep and wish to purchase three or more books you will receive a discount. Students received an order form (see attached) yesterday and can pre-order their yearbook all this week or at the Booster booth this Friday.

This month’s featured booster item is the Griffin Claw – regularly priced at $5.00 this month you can get yours for $3.00. See one in the front office in the bulletin board. Cool!

Lunch Order Form: Attached is the next order form due Monday, February 8th.

Upcoming Restaurant Night: February 16th (Tuesday) is the night to plan a meal at Paradise Bakery and Café. This is always a great evening so plan to come join the fun – watch for flyer and details of contests for this fun evening.

Restaurant Night Updates: Congratulations, 6th grader – Nolan Anderson and Mr. Rickey – winners of the raffle at Oggi’s in January. Thanks much to the families that braved the weather and ignored the “tornado watch” that night and came out for a great meal.
